A large number of documents are needed in the global transport. Logistics documents are indispensable in the logistics services, which have the main features of accuracy, completeness, conciseness, and promptness.

There are three kinds of commonly used logistics documents, which are classified roughly according to the document source.

Government documents include import/export license, customs declaration form, inspection certificate, certificate of origin, generalized system of preferences certificate of origin form A, customs declaration entrustment note, foreign exchange cancellation-after-verification note, and export tax rebate form.

Commercial documents include bill of exchange or draft, insurance policy/insurance certificate, commercial invoice, packing list, customs invoice, consular invoice, beneficiary’s statement, shipping advice, captain receipt, itinerary certificate, certificate of sample, beneficiary’s certificate , credit note, debit note, and letter of credit(L/C).

Transport documents include shipper’s letter of instruction, space booking note, shipping order(S/O), mate’s receipt, container shipping note, dock receipt, container load plan(CLP), bill of lading(B/L)(MB/L & HB/L, sea waybill), combined transport B/L, delivery order(D/O), equipment interchange receipt, railway bill, road waybill, cargo receipt(C/R), cargo manifest, cargo plan, master air waybill(MAWB), house waybill(HAWB), and forwarder’s certificate of receipt(FCR).
